M. Ward Is Fantastic

Post-War, the new M. Ward album is amazing. It comes out this Tuesday and he's going on tour this fall. "To Go Home"(download thanks to Bricolage Fantasy) is brilliantly crafted and really grabs me especially as I prepare to head back to the East Coast. The whole album is full of somber love songs full of crackling vocals and old time sounds. M. Ward creates a unique sound that makes me think he recorded the whole album through a tin can. Go and buy this album tuesday and I'll see you at the Somerville show in Massachusettes.

Lollapalooza Broken by the Scene

Chromewaves captured some great Broken Social Scene shots from Lollapalooza this week. Feist looks hot as ever and everyone looks like they had a ton of fun. The show is available from Dimedozen.org. The set was short but sounds energetic. The setlist is as follows:
7/4 (shorline)
cause=time
fire eye'd boy
superconnected
anthems
ibi dreams

I'd download the show if I wasn't in Alaska with a super slow connection. If you get it let me know how it sounds.

Brian Sendrowitz of Beat Radio Does Van Morrison

Word on the Beat:: Beat Radio & Van Morrison

Yay!! A new beat radio song, well not really but close. It's a cover from the genius behind the radio Brian Sendrowitz. He cover's The Way Young Lovers Do from his favorite Van Morrison album of all time. Also be sure to check out the newest song from their forthcoming full length album the great big sea. The song is Fearful and is as good as anything Brian has written. After nearly a year I can't wait to finally see beat radio in nyc this fall. Be sure to check them out at the knitting factory on the 13th of August. I'd be there but I'm in Alaska.
