Tis the Season for the Shamrock Shake

McDonalds brought it back for the 36th year, the Shamrock Shake. It's a seasonal milkshake that they only bring out in March for St. Patricks day. According to McDonalds Ireland it was first introduced in 1970. So what is the Shamrock Shake? It is the thickests mint ice cream you'll ever try and drink through a straw.
Yesterday my buddies and I decided we'd go out for lunch and get a shamrock shake. Of course I prompted the idea because 18 years ago my grandmother brought me to McDonalds in Lake Placid, NY and got me a happy meal with one of these legendary shakes. It was heaven when I was 4 years old, so how is it now at the age of 22? At first taste it is pretty amazing, but don't be fooled. If you are going to get one only buy the 1$ mini size because any more than that is completely unnecessary. I ordered a medium and all my friends got smalls.

We were all sick within 5 minutes. The shake is so thick you get a serious workout sucking it through the straw. None of us actually threw up but we all wanted to by the time we were half through. The shamrock shake brings back lots of nostalgic feelings for me but I think that yesterday may be the last time I ever have one. I'd rather just see the signs and http://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gifget nostalgic then want to vomit and get nostalgic.
