Development Arrested, Is It Showtime?

(Does this picture seem interesting to anyone else?)
The final 4 episodes of Arrested Development aired on Fox last friday. If you were like millions of other viewers you were watching the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. Well you missed the last 2 hours of one of the best comedies Fox ever aired. The 4 episodes were hilarious to say the least. It was the last huzzah for Hurwitz and co. to please us die-hard fans. The biggest revelation of all... Maebe and GM are indeed not cousins so their kids wouldn't be retarded. Turns out that Lindsay was adopted to spite the Sitwells and she is 40. There were some great callbacks ones that stand out:
Nellie's bleep speach to the office about do's and dont's was a callback to GOB in Afternoon Delight
Buster and his girlfriend talking were a callback from the episode Not-A-Pussy, the dialogue was almost identical except for the fig part in sub for fag.
GM and Maebe getting drunk just like Michael and Lindsay in the first season.
And who can forget the whole return to the boat and come full circle from the first to last episode.
An amazing reference that someone found from Afternoon Delight is that when they are pulling the banana stand out of the water it says, "I'll Get You Bluth, - Hello" referencing Annyong's real name and the revenge for his father.
Here are 4 of my favorite quotes from the second to last episode:
"Those Hollywood shows are so incredebly detailed" Tobias opens cabinet and there is one thing, then GM opens it and there is one Granola Bar.
"Whoever said vegetables were good for your heart" The lady that falls in love with Buster.
"And a lot of us just didn't want to drive all the way down to Orange County" Ron Howard not wanting to drive to Maeby's Birthday.
"I'm no scar dot com." From the Sadam look alike who is playing Sadam in the trial.
The show is currently not in production and Fox doesn't want it anymore. Showtime supposedly still wants it and we'll see where that goes. If it doesn't continue it was great while it lasted, but if it gets a turn to shine again I'll always be happy with more. Who knows maybe Lucille will end up in jail in the next season or maybe they'll kill off some characters. Only time will tell... Mitch please!
