Alaska Is Quiet Without An iPod (Battle of the Bulge)
So my iPod suffered a tragedy a few weeks back. It gave me the sad icon error and then refused to work. The worst part is I've sent it back and Apple wants nothing to do with it. They think that I dropped it or tried to pry it open or something. The truth of the matter is that iPods warp and bulge(see iLounge, post 2, post 3, post 4). I know enouhttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gifgh about iPods and have had a few to know that they do indeed bulge and that if I were to try and open it that would negate my AppleCare plan. Anyway I've been now limited to listening to only music on my computer which is tough since I am on the run most of the time while here in Alaska.
I have been listening to a lot of Islands, Phoenix, Thom Yorke, and The Mountain Goats. Islands has some super catchy tracks like "Don't Call Me Whitney, Bobby", and the new Phoenix album has me singing lines days after listening to it. Thom Yorke's Eraser is great mood music. When I'm feeling depress or thinking life is fucked-up "Black Swan" is a great song to compliment the feeling. The new Mountain Goats album Get Lonely hasn't quite grabbed me yet. I loved the Sunset Tree but I will have to give the new one a few new listens. If there is anything really good that I'm missing out on this summer please let me know. I'm deprived, depressed, and in need of my little white box full of tunes.
